Travel

I love to travel. My wife loves to travel. So generally, we love to travel a lot.

On top of that, I get opportunities to travel with my work, including giving talks around the world and hanging out at a work-sponsored booth.

So with that, I’ve tried to find ways to make that experience as comfortable as possible, so here are a few things that have helped.

Watching things on your phone hands-free

Not all airplanes come with screens on the back of the seats. But even when they do, maybe you want to watch something specific you’ve downloaded to your phone.

The problem with that is you’re likely holding it yourself the entire time, which works, but can get tiring or maybe a bad angle that can irritate your neck (me).

This clip easily attaches to pretty much any seat allowing you to have a nice hands-free way of watching whatever you’re trying to watch on your device.

Avoid losing your earbuds

Earbuds are super convenient for easy listening, but one wrong move and your earbuds might have rolled back to the seat behind you or worse, stuck in your seat.

I’ve enjoyed this pair from Soundcore that’s affordable, really comfortable, and sounds great.

Charging wherever you go

It’s important when traveling internationally to have a solid travel adapter.

This one’s fared really well for me, being able to hook up wherever I’ve needed.

Note: part of the design for these types of adapters is a fuse for protection. I think it includes one backup, but you can also find replacements on Amazon which is super handy to avoid having to buy a whole new one.

Plugging in all your things

No matter where you go, even if you’re just sticking around in your home country, it can be difficult to find enough spots to plug all your things in, or just finding a convenient location.

Carrying around a small power strip with a few mixed ports helps make it easier to accommodate your charged devices, such as sticking your phone next to the bed.

Charging on the go

But maybe you don’t have a wall outlet. So having a compact but powerful powerbank can help you to conveniently stay charged while on the move.

I like this one because it charges with USB-C and allows to charge via that port, but also allows you to plug in the regular USB port.
